When entering or leaving the Dojo (training area) please face the instructor Bow with respect and say "OSSU" loudly with meaning.
At all time you must show self respect, respect for the Dojo, instructor and fellow students. Outside the Dojo you must act respectfully and exerice good behaviour and remember that to training or teachning Sosai`s mas. Oyamas Kyokushin Karate is not a right, but a privilege and we hope that all the IKO Sosai Dojo in Denmark will help represent this idea in a pure and respectful way.
While training is in progress student should pay attention to the instructor and there must be no talking or any distraction either by those training or watching.
No smoking, eating, drinking or bad language is permitted in the Dojo at any time.
Dogi and other training clothes must at all time be clean and in good repair.
When training please , do not whear jewellery or watches. Anything that cannot be easily removed must be shown to the instructor for advice, or you can use tape to cover it.
Students when training should be clean and tidy. Good personaly hygiene is essential; finger and toe nails must be kept short and clean, hair must be clean and if long tied back.
Instructors must be addressed, at all time by their correct title, Shihan, Sensei or Sempai.
In case of accident or injury it is importan that you tell your instructor, he can offer first aid and advice to help facilitate a full recovery.
We start and end of the class with line up with the highest grad stand to the right, facing the instructor / shinden (picture of Sosai) , always the highest grade to the right, ect. The procedures is a polite and respectful way of greeting the instructor and follow students and show respect for the founder of IKO Kyokushin Karate Sosai Mas. Oyama, standing in line in Fudo Dachi, when the instructor is command Yoi Dachi the students will make a strong Yoi Dachi and then the instructor command Seiza, everyone kneels down with fists resting on top of the thighs just below the hips and elbow (covert).
The following commands are then made:
At the end of class:
Kancho / Shihan / Sensei or Sempai Ni ,
Arrigato Gosai Mushta, Rei. All bow and say OSSU
Student that is let for Class:
Let for a class the student must first bow, entre the Dojo then kneel in Seiza facing the Door. When told to joint the class( still in Seiza) to face the instructor, bow and say OSSU then make for senior 40 push –ups and 40 squat for junior 20 push –ups and 20 squat, children 10 push ups and 10 squat, say OSSU. When there are reedy then find correct position in the line.
When instructor explaning/ demonstrating students must at all time stand in front to the instructor in Fudo Dachi (informal Stance).
